Security and Access Control

Access control is a fundamental component of facility security that dictates who is allowed to access the facility and the resources inside. Through authentication and authorisation, access control ensures that users are who they say they are and that they have the appropriate access to the facility. Access control can also be applied to limit physical access to areas outside of specific times.

The majority of commercial organisations use an access control system to manage authorised and restricted areas to employees, as well as secure the premise from unauthorised personnel. These can be quite simplistic stand alone units or a complex facility wide system that can be monitored and managed remotely and allows the freedom of easy changes.
